In November 2010, I presented a paper entitled “Learning from children’s concepts of historic sites” at the College and University Faculty Assembly of the National Council for the Social Studies annual conference in Denver, CO.  The paper focused on results from a qualitative study with elementary school students about their beliefs and understandings about the nature and purposes of historic sites.  Attending the conference was a wonderful opportunity to meet many of the individuals whose work was a central part of my dissertation study.
